King Construction Services, Inc. commitment is to create a safe and healthy work environment for our employees, customers, and the public.

King believes every employee is our most important asset. We strive to provide a safe and healthy work environment for employees daily. Our safety goals include eliminating incidents that can contribute to injury to our employees and visitors, property loss, and any interruption to our business production. Management and employees will work together in planning, developing, and implementing safe and healthy work methods, practices, and programs. All managers and supervisors of this company have the responsibility to ensure that each employee receives the training and instruction necessary to perform his or her work safely.

Management is held accountable for providing a workplace free of recognizable hazards that might cause injuries and/or illnesses. All management will set a good example by complying with company rules for safety and health. All employees play a part in the prevention of workplace illnesses and injuries. We expect employees to follow company policy and give full support to safety and health issues and programs. With total commitment of management and employees, elimination of incidents and prevention of injuries are achievable goals. We are personally committed to the continual improvement of our safety and health performance and will authorize the actions necessary to achieve these objectives.

Our goal of zero incidents and zero injuries is communicated clearly to each employee and by using the STEP (Safety Through Everyone’s Participation) observation program both at risk and safe behaviors. A safe workplace is a productive workplace!

At the start of hire, safety orientations are presented to each new employee. Our company conducts OSHA 10 and 30-hour training courses for all employees. Crews complete weekly toolbox safety talks and daily huddles. Each crew is equipped with a supervisor and at least one employee trained in:

• First Aid and CPR
• Trenching/Excavation competent person
• Confined space competent person

We conduct additional trainings with our mechanics, fleet employees, supervisors, and all company employees through:

• Lockout/Tagout Program
• Hazard Communication
• Bloodborne Pathogens
• Rigging Safety
• Crane Safety
• Welding and Cutting
• Ladder Safety
• Personal Protective Equipment
• Electrical Safety
• Safe Driving Mechanisms/Load Securement

King’s safety professional provides an annual refresher training to each employee working on the jobsites. Our company additionally provides trenching and excavation safety training to our subcontractors. King has a comprehensive safety policy and procedures for training and safe jobsite standards. Our jobsites are equipped with employee safety handbooks, safety data sheets, emergency action plans, and loss prevention/safety manual. King prides themselves on upholding a drug-free workplace. Safety on our jobsites is upheld by frequent, regular safety inspections and a safety reward program for excellence. King’s ultimate goal is to ensure the safety and health of each employee daily.
